I thought about going and decided against it. I love Berry's advice, and I'm glad Rinzler is so optimistic about the publishing industry. I was talking to someone at the Grotto about how soon there will be all kinds of marketing consultants for authors who intend to self-publish. Sounds like AuthorHive has jumped on that bandwagon (for both self-published and traditionally published authors, I imagine.) You've got to have persistence and determination. I think they are the main reasons why people get published. It's not about just the quality of the work. If that was true, only quality writers would be published, and we know that is not true!Dianne Jacobhttp://www.diannej.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10847733.post-89672138035144920862010-02-14T08:42:10.302-08:002010-02-14T08:42:10.302-08:00Thanks for the shout out.

It's a shame more people can't be published. Think of all the excellent literature that we could be missing out on!

Great post. It's always good to know that there are conventions out there like this one and all the steps most people must take to get their writing in book form.

Happy Valentine's Day!onceuponasunflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15920163244484926190noreply@blogger.com
