By giving the claims of the Beachy article equal weight with the defenders of the LeRoy myth -- most of whom, like LeRoy's publisher, have a vested interest in continuing the hoax -- Chronicle writer Heidi Benson did the readers a disservice. Surely the situation calls for more skepticism than she demonstrated. <BR/><BR/>The Greil Marcus quotation at the end of the article seemed to suggest that those who don't believe in LeRoy are somehow unable to appreciate art -- another assertion Benson simply prints without questioning it. <BR/><BR/>Perhaps believing in the existence of J.T.
